Prepare the baby
Along with you and your partner, your baby should also be prepared. Dressing them is the most important aspect. Make sure they wear something soft and comfy. The pediatrician might have to undress the baby for an in-depth examination. Keep the dressing as simple as you can, so itβs easier and quicker for the doctor. There are also chances that youβll be asked to wait before your babyβs turn comes. The baby wonβt like to be kept waiting in the lobby for so long, and all dressed up in denim dungaree or frills. Itβs also advisable to bring in a change of clothes and a few extra diapers. Bring a couple of things to calm them down in case they feel distressed. These include their pacifier, wipers, bottle, feeding supplies, and their favorite toy.How to wait
Babies have weaker immune systems compared to adults. We donβt recommend waiting inside the clinic for too long to limit the babyβs exposure to infectious germs. Try and arrive just in time, so you donβt have to wait. If thereβs any paperwork to be filled, one parent can do it while the other waits with the baby in the car. If youβre a single parent, try to ask someone to come along and give you a hand. Even if you have to wait inside the clinic room, try and keep the babyβs face covered and maintain a considerable distance from others. We recommend choosing a Pediatrician in San Antonio clinic with designated waiting areas for βsick visitsβ and βwell visits.βBring all the paperwork.
On your babyβs first visit, make sure you have all the essential paperwork. Hereβs a checklist to help you:- Your insurance cards
- All the hospital paperwork
- Documentation regarding the childβs birthweight
- The motherβs pregnancy history, including details of the medicines
